Overactive letdown tips?

I'm almost positive I'm experiencing this. LO is choking or coughing on milk at almost every feeding, he's gassy, makings clicking sounds, latches and unlatches multiple times during the first few minutes, etc. 
Anyone have any tips or tricks to help fix this? 
I hate seeing him choke on my breastmilk. It makes me very nervous at nighttime and if he'll spitup during his sleep.

You can unlatch baby during letdown and let the spray go into a towel and than relatch.
Kellymom has a good post about it with more tips. Another good suggestion is to use gravity to help. Nurse while leaning back, tummy to tummy.

I have the same issue. This is what worked for me: nurse on one side each feeding to ensure baby gets to the more fatty hindmilk, and lean back during letdown to help baby have more control when sucking. I also found that after a while, my daughter adapted to it and no longer chokes or unlatches. In fact, now she gets frustrated when the flow is too slow! Good luck!

I have the same problem. I have a hand pump and pump a bit on each side before each feed until the milk slows down. It's really annoying, but my baby is a lot less gassy, so it's worth it! Best of luck!
