Baby Food Before 6 Months?

Question

How many women are currently feeding their babies that are younger than 6 months baby food? I know it's recommended to wait until 6 months before you give your baby any food. If you are currently feeding your LO baby food what are you giving them? & has it affected their digestive system? Does it really help them stay full for a longer period of time?

My daughter just turned 4 months yesterday and we started baby food yesterday as well! 
She's had sweet potatoes twice now and loved it! She's been showing that she's ready for foods for a while now. But me and her pediatrician agreed to wait till 4 months.

I didn't find it helped keep her fuller longer but our daughter had severe acid reflux so we have her some oat cereal at 4.5 months(at the recommendation of her ped)  but she was more than ready. Sitting up good and ate it like a champ. We waited another month and a bit before introducing other foods just to be safe. My brothers wife gave his daughter cereal in a bottle at 2 months and she's two now and still has severe bowel issues. I thinks there's science behind waiting for a reason. At least til 4,5 months

My little guy is 4mo today and he's already had bananas, apples, squash, sweet potato, avocado and peas. I had no doubt he was ready to start purees. Doesn't tongue thrust anything out. I forget he's just 4mo because he's doing things so early. (Started rolling back to front and front to back at 3mo in the same week! I was shocked because my first didn't roll until 5mo) So I thought why not just start solids. He loves it! But of course if you're questioning it, check with your pediatrician first.

my youngest who is 16 months now he had severe acid reflux and wasn't hardly gaining weight so doc put him on cereal at 1 month and I started him on baby food at 3 months.  my little man is now 27 pounds and he loves all foods!

I started at 5.5 months. I gave her avocados, sweet potatoes, prunes, applesauce, banana ...now that she's 8 months on the 16th (has 6 teeth and 2 coming) she still loves avocados and eats scrambled eggs, cheerios...pretty much what I eat most of the time!

Our pediatrician said it was ok after 4 months.  To try oatmeal not rice cereal and even veggies ...wait 2-3 days before introducing different foods to snuff out allergies.  She said to wait on fruit just bc it's sweet and may deter him from wanting other foods.  She even said strawberries and peanut butter as early as we can bc it helps find out allergies and possibly prevent. At first our little man didn't seem interested.  Now at 5 mo old he's all about it.  We've given him oatmeal, carrots, banana and apples.  All organic and all purée 
Ask your pediatrician what they recommend. We were going to wait until 6 mo, but dr. Said ok if he was interested.  You will know bc your baby will act interested when you're putting food in your mouth :)
