Hsg test???

Does this hurt??? I'm terrified? Help!!

So I just had mine done a couple of hours ago. I took 800 mg of Ibuprofen an hour before. The pain wasn't too bad. Sure it hurt, but it's doable. I had a very strong reaction to the contrast dye though. After the procedure was done, they had me sit up on the side of the bed, because some women get dizzy afterwards. I was feeling extremely dizzy, nauseated and started sweating all of a sudden. They had me lie back down again, gave me a wet towel and a glass of water. I was very close to passing out. It took a couple of minutes, but it went away. I had some cramping for about half an hour afterwards, but nothing since. All in all, not too bad.

Am I the only one who was knocked out when I had and HSG?? Maybe because I also had a laproscopy done also but makes me feel like a wimp lol

I had an HSG in April 2016 and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. Hurt so bad I puked. They said it can hurt like that if you had mild blockages and it cleared it out. So that's what happened with me. I took ibuprofen an hour before and it didn't help me. Hopefully yours doesn't hurt

It was honestly not that bad. It was more uncomfortable than anything. I barely had any cramps after too.

It's awkward but it wasn't bad at all! I was freaked out because I had heard it was horrible but it honestly wasn't.  You'll be fine - and it's super fast.

I took Morin before.  mild cramping when the dye is injected.  I went back to work. no bleeding.

I'll be going for an HSG in a couple weeks myself and I'm also scared. Trying to chill out though.

Honestly, I feel like reading the comments and searching on google is what really hyped me up for a procedure I didn't even feel. I had no discomfort whatsoever although I was anticipating it because I read other people's views. Just relax! It's over in no time.

depends on your pain tolerance, I considered myself to be able to take alot of pain, however i was almost in tears laying on that table lol. Definitely take ibu before u go 😊
