birth control question

i'm 15 and i was put on birth control for my ovarian cysts about 4 months ago. how much does timing affect it? i've always been told that you're supposed to take it at the same time everyday, i decided to take mine at 9 pm, but usually i accidentally take it an hour or two late. will that throw anything off or is it okay?

p.s.

my doctor said it'd take a few months to get my cycle adjusted, and it still hasn't started on the pills it's supposed to. should i wait a little longer or should i ask her about it? my next appointment isn't until May of next year. (the pill i take is called Larin, it's a generic for another i can't remember the name of. a lot of the reviews i read on it weren't great)
