She's Here!!!
I read these baby stories every night before bed and every experience got me more and more anxious for my own. And I am so happy that I finally get to share mine.
On Sunday July 9, my husband and I went to the hospital because I couldn't keep anything down and I've had bad diarrhea every day for the past few weeks, we go to the hospital they run tests, got me hooked up to an IV and sent me home. The following day Monday July 10, I called my doctor with some cramp concerns and numbness in my right leg, they immediately tell me to go back to the hospital to rule out any possible blood clots, I knew all was fine but my husband and my mom insisted I'd go to at least get checked to make sure all is okay, I know I am very stubborn, but I went and all was good! I joked with the nurses and said "you know I'm tired of seeing you guys every day and not bringing home a baby, let's just get the show on the road and induce me!" She said nope! Not before you're due date but take it easy third times a charm. I got sent home and at 4 am on Tuesday July 11, I'm 37w5d I woke up to some liquid between my legs. I remembered thinking I know I didn't pee myself but I got up to clean myself off, still dripping to the bathroom and a gush a fluid came out as a peed. I wiped and had some very very minor blood, just a hint of pink but my gut was telling me that it was time. I yelled for my husband and we called the hospital and rushed to L&D.; Scared they would send me home as I wasn't even 1cm dilated on Sunday and I had no contractions just minor cramps, and mind you I am a baby when it comes to pain. They got me into a room, and swabbed me to make sure it was in fact my water. The lab results came back negative but the nurse said, I don't trust the lab, things have been off with them so I'm going to resend another reading. As she was getting the supplies to do so she said either way, I can look on my glove and definitely see you're ruptured, you're staying. I was so happy as if I would've been sent home I know I would've been back within hours, so thank you nurse for saving me the gas! I was put on antibiotics as I tested positive for GBS, then later put on pitocin to speed up my contractions because at 5am I was only dilated to 1.5cm. The pitocin kicked in at about 9:30/10 am and the contractions got more intense by about noon. I ordered the epidural at 2 pm when I was 3 cm dilated, the nurse had informed me that since I was on pitocin it wouldn't slow anything down. So by all means GIVE ME THE DRUGS! By 3pm she checked again and I was at 4cm, dilating away, not feeling a thing and loving labor at this point. She gave me a "peanut" to open the way for baby and by about 5 she checked me again and I was at 10! I lost it, started shaking, getting so nervous to deliver and finally meet my baby girl!! After 1.5 hours of pushing, barely tearing at all, I had my baby girl at 6:39pm. We are beyond thankful, and so in love!!! She has already changed our world in so many ways!!
