Finally approved! We are going to be foster parents!

🇲🇽

My wife and I just got the call that we were approved to be foster parents! I'm so excited to start this journey. Any day now we could get a call that a baby needs us. Our house is approved to foster ages 0-2 but they said they will most likely place a newborn with us straight from the hospital. We do plan to adopt if the opportunity arises, but we fully support reunification and would feel so honored to be able to give a baby a safe home while his/her family works through their struggles.

And a couple questions for any current mommies or daddies reading this... I suddenly feel very unprepared. What must-have items should I have before the baby comes? We won't know exact age or size so clothes have to wait. We have a crib, bassinet, car seat, swing, changing pad, and that's about it. I thought everything else should wait but now I think I should have more in case its a middle of the night drop off. And last question, what apps do you use? Glow baby or are there others? Thanks so much for any help!
