Thought I'd need loads to do in hospital!
At around 5am on 24th May I woke up to use the bathroom and noticed I had horrible back pain. I watched some TV and started timing my pin just in case as I was 38w 5d. At around 8am I woke my husband and said I might be having contractions. I had a bath and my pains that were around every 4 minutes went all over... 3 mins....9 mins etc. I rang the hospital because my husband was concerned and they confirmed it was probably early labour and to stay at home. The pains continued to be all over for a few more hours and I used a tens machine for pain relief. At around lunchtime I had some blood and rang the hospital again to be told not to worry and not to go in unless my contractions were every 3 minutes constantly (something which I don't think should be said) and that it was still early labour. At around 4pm my water broke and I had almighty pressure instantly. I rang the hospital and they eventually told me to go in. We got to the hospital at 4.45 (my contractions were still all over the place) and I told the midwife I thought I was being dramatic as felt the need to push. She examined me...a contractions came and she said she could see his head. My gorgeous boy Theo arrived at 5.23, around 40 mins after getting to hospital weighing a very healthy 8lb 5oz. 💛 he is now 7 weeks and I'm still in shock at how quick it all happened!
