Arrival of baby girl. Sorry

July 6th I had an appointment. I was 39w6d. One day from my due date. And no signs of baby girl coming. There was no cervical check done and was scheduled for my ultrasound a week later as well as a membrane sweep. My plan was for a vaginal unmedicated water birth at a birthing center one hour north of where I live. Friday the 7th husband and I decided to go out to dinner with our four year old one last time before we turn from 3 to a family of 4. Around 4 pm I started noticing that my "Braxton hicks " actually have a rhythm. Every 10 minutes but painless. Same for Saturday. My friend and I actually decided to get our nails done which was a nice last thing I did for myself. :). Around 2am Sunday morning I noticed cramping with my "Braxton hicks". They woke me frequently throughout the night. I decided to call my midwife at 6in the morning since they were 5 minutes apart and because I was GBS+ she told me to come in to be evaluated. We got to the birthing center at 9am. At that time I was 4cm,80%effaced and at -1 station. They had me go out for breakfast and to walk for two hours. So that's what we did. When I went back at 12ish nothing had changed. Contractions where still 4 minutes apart and still bare able so they said I was in early labor and to go home and rest. Told me to come back when I had my bloody show, rupture of my membranes or they get much stronger. (Typical can't talk or eat blah blah blah) home we went. For the next 5 hours everything was the same. Bounced on my ball took a bath and a shower etc. also took some Tylenol. All of the sudden the pain got intense. I started crying through some of them. I decided before I drive out an hour again I first would go to my local hospital to see if there has been any change. I started to feel tons of pressure and last time I felt that was when I was crowning with my first born. 😳We called the babysitter, and I was so hungry I made myself a peanut butter sandwich :) and left. We got there: figured since I'm eating, talking, joking, walking etc that maybe I progressed another CM or two. They got me in triage and checked my cervix and was already a 9. 😳😭 so obviously we knew I wouldn't make it to the birthing center. At that time my baby's heartbeat dropped for a few minutes and they almost wanted to do a csection. They gave me a injection to stop my contractions which worked almost right away. (Also due to my GBS they wanted me to get some antibiotics first) so they admitted me :) since I couldn't move out of the bed (hospitals 😑 lol ) the contractions became 1000x worse and I did end up getting an epidural at almost 10 cm dilated. This was 10ish PM. Keep in mind with my first daughter I was induced,in labor 36+ hours and six hours pushing before they used a vacuum to get her out. Anyway around 1:45am on the 10th they checked me again and baby was right there. So I started pushing which was difficult since my epidural just kicked in. So after 30 minutes of pushing they turned down the epidural. I started feeling my contractions and the urge to push and having this giant mirror made it so much more amazing for me. When I started seeing her head crowning it was a surreal moment. Definitely made me push harder. And btw the ring of fire 🔥 didn't disappear even tho I had a epidural. That was definitely not pleasant ;) out came the head and her body followed with another push. I always thought it just kind of slides out after the head, oh no. We did a few minutes of delayed clamping and my husband got to cut the cord. First thing my baby did was pee and poop on me. (Glad she didn't poop inside me tho) I was lucky and only had a 1st degree tear. Our baby girl came out a chunk. 22inches and 8lbs 12 oz. a pound bigger than my first. I'm so glad the way it went after all. We are finally home. I'm so in love with both my girls. :)
