Dog Troubles
My husband was just given back his childhood dog because my MIL couldn't keep him anymore. A purebred jack russell, about 11-12 years old.
Anyone who knows him can describe him as purely aggressive - he's always coming at someone, barking at something, nipping or biting at whatever he can, can and will tear anything apart, not loving at all (won't let you pet him or snuggle him, will try and bite you if you try), very territorial and possessive.
My dog is the literal complete opposite.
And they can't stand each other. To the point of killing each other if they were to ever actually meet.
I know a woman who can train dogs (she claims there is no limit on age for training) and that she can cure his aggressiveness in under 2 weeks. She charges $500+. For him, it could mean going into $1,000-$2,000 range. 😕 We don't have that kind of money right now.
I say, with all the love for dogs in my heart, this dog is not able to be fixed and should be put down. Specially since we are having a baby in 6 months and he's already a danger to me as a pregnant woman as is. Rehoming would be useless because nobody will take him once they get to know him. Taking him to the pound where we live will just get him euthanized as well since he's an older aggressive dog. We're running out of options. Judge me, whatever.
I haven't even brought the idea up to my husband because he may not ever speak to me again, lol. He's got this attachment to him, which is understandable. But he's not seeing the bigger picture.
What the heck should I do??????
