i recently had a chemical pregnancy and been told by a family friend i shouldn't be upset because i never had a first scan. she said it was stupid grieving for a egg that wasnt a baby.
now i feel like i am in the wrong for being upset :(

You are not wrong at all! I had a miscarriage back in January at 6 weeks and had someone go around at work saying that my miscarriage wasn't "real" and that if I wouldn't of tested so early I would of never even of known i was pregnant. I've never wanted to punch someone in the face so bad. For me that first positive pregnancy test has me so attached . I start thinking about the future and all the things that come with it and that baby. I'm sorry that she said those things to you. So rude .

You are not wrong at all and you are not being stupid. Whoever said that to you is clueless and insensitive. A miscarriage is a miscarriage no matter how far along you were. You were aware of and growing a baby. And losing that is one of the most isolating and devastating experiences. The 5 stages of grieving are very real - hold on to those that will support you and use this community as well! We had a "chemical pregnancy" a few weeks ago and I come back here almost daily just to hear people that get it. Don't be shy, you're not alone. It's a tough journey but it will get better. 💕

She is being stupid! An egg that is not a baby it's not fertilized and it's just normaly flushed out During your period -> not pregnant. 
But yours was an egg that WAS fertilized! And implanted (a positive test apears only after implantation -> wich means pregnant -> wich means baby )!!

even for a Short time it WAS NOT just an egg cell! It was a baby! 
Going through 2 chemical pregnancies myself I struggle sometimes with the face that it ended So early, but they were My babies nontheless!!
