Birth Story 💙
I got pregnant with my little boy almost a month after getting married. I had absolutely no symptoms of pregnancy. When I was almost 2 months late for AF, I decided to take a test because the birth control that I was on made me have little to no periods. It was pretty quick to appear on the stick that I was pregnant. I was so scared. I scheduled an appointment with the OB, and they got me in the next day. They did an ultrasound, the doctor was thinking I was about 7-8 weeks along, oh no...I was almost 13 weeks. Months and months go by and finally his due date quickly snuck up on us...March 26th...and guess what? Nothing. March 27th came and it happened to be my last appointment. I was only 3cm dilated. WHAT?! He definitely didn't want to get out of there. The doc stripped my membranes and said it should get the process going.
About an hour later I was getting stronger contractions, I was just thinking this was normal....hours and hours go by, and they were becoming more frequent...once again I thought it was normal lol.
My sisters and I went to go see my grandma in the cancer portion of the hospital, and the contractions started to become unbearable. My grandma asked how many minutes apart my contractions were...I told her about 4-5 minutes. She told me I was in labor...I shrugged it off thinking she's crazy.
We had to drop my sister off to her friends car just down the road, and we drop her off...she tells me, "your water better not break in my brand new Mazda Mallory!" She shuts the door and my other sister and I drive off. We hit the stop sign, and BOOM! HERE COMES THE FLOOD!
My sister rushes down the freeway (going 110) and I needed to start pushing...she was telling me not to, but I couldn't help it. We got to the womens center portion of the hospital and the nurses rush me into a room...I stripped down in front of my mom, dad, sister, and even mother in law! I didn't even care at that point.
They check to see how dilated I was...I was crowning. I wanted an epidural. Nope. Not happening sister...they had to bring in a mid-wife because the delivering doctor wasn't even there yet!
26 minutes later.....Cannon Maddox was born.
After delivery, I wouldn't stop bleeding...clots and a lot of blood. They couldn't get it to stop. Finally, the doctor comes in and tells me I would need a DNC....awake! No drugs. NADA. She thought some of the placenta was still up there and needed to scrape it out....turns out...there was no pieces of placenta up there. They were pushing on my stomach for hours...I could feel all the clots coming out. Finally, they gave me a shot, and the bleeding stopped.
Anyway, that is my long birth story!
Cannon is now the happiest 2 year old...ever.
