Annoying scratchy noise?

Does anybody's baby make this annoying scratchy whiny noise when he or she doesn't want to sleep? It's like a dolphin cackle.  My baby does it even with a pacifier in his mouth. I hate it.  Especially it comes late at night or early when I any trying to sleep.  Talk about nails on a chalkboard...

Lol! I thought my baby was the only one! His grandma calls it a dolphin noise, too. During the day I think it's kinda cute...but at night, when I've been up every 2 hours breastfeeding, changing him, rocking him until he's sleepy- then I put him down and that noise starts just as I crawl back into bed? Then it's not quite as cute. Then I lie awake waiting to see if he'll settle after a few seconds, or if it morphs into real crying and I have to get back up to start the settling process again. Sometimes he feeds and goes back to sleep perfectly... other nights it seems like he makes this noise more than he actually sleeps, and I'm up all night long listening to it!

I think I know the sound you're talking about. My son makes those noises and it cracks me up. Doesn't keep me awake though.
