Going to Japan with a 4 month old? 🇯🇵

Th

My partner and I live in the U.K. we are planning to fly via Dubai to Japan with our son when he is roughly 3-4 months old.

I think it'll be okay, as we are planning on flying at least business if not first so hopefully this means flight attendants will be more helpful and we have more space to look after him. Plus we will use the lounges to get ourselves together and make sure we are prepared for the flights.

Once in Japan we are staying in Tokyo for a few nights and then going to a ryokan in Hakone.

My main worry is the cultural differences and what would be considered okay when looking after our baby, especially as new parents. Will it be a huge issue if I breastfeed in public? I know trains are usually a lot more quiet but what if she starts shrieking? Is it okay to bring him with me to an onsen or should he go with my partner to the male onsen?
