So my boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year and his brother hates me and idk why he just does. His parents don't really like me either but they're nicer than his brother bc he told them that if they want him to come around then they have to respect me. But his parents invited us over for breakfast one morning and his brother was there. Long story short my bf got into a debate with his brother over something silly, and we were finished with our food. So I took my plate and my bfs plate to the kitchen. His brother tripped me making lose my balance a bit which made my bf say what the hell J(his brothers nickname). That's when his brother just spit on me. It was the kind of spit that had been sitting in his mouth a while. I got mad and slapped him with all force. I felt so disrespected that I stormed out without my bf. When I was in my car my bf came out and said how I should let it go because his brother said it was an accident. Him knowing how he doesn't like me and believed it was an accident made me even more mad. My bf is kind of a push over so ik he wasn't defending me to his brother. Should I let it go or break up with my bf and end all communication with them?
