I feel absolutely terrible

Last night my newborn was crying, I put him in his bouncing chair to calm him down a bit, the chair has a toy that goes on top, as I was pick him up from the chair the toy bounced back and hit him in the head. My baby is 5 weeks only I feel terrible, I wanted to take him to get check out but my husband convinced me it was not necessary. I cried and feel terrible it was an accident.
