Am I gaining enough weight? 18weeks

Question

So far I have only gained 2lbs and I'm now 18weeks&2days is this normal? Or do you think I should speak to my doctor? Getting quite worried

It definitely depends on starting weight. I'm overweight and was advised to only gain between 10/15 lbs during pregnancy.. I have lost about 6lbs since my first apt and doc is ok with it.  Baby is weighing a week ahead so my weight isn't a bother!.

I think it depends on your weight to begin with. I'm over weight, not severely, but about 20-30 pounds. I have only gained back what I originally lost now at 20 weeks. However in the last well 19-20 I gained about a pound in a half which was the fastest I've gained any of the weight. Just keep an eye on your weight and ask your OB at your next appointment how much they'd like to see you gaining.

I lost 19lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy, and at 20 weeks I'm still 11lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight. As long as you're eating a balanced diet, there's no need to be concerned.

Ive gained the same and I'm 18 + 3 and my doctor isn't concerned at all. She said as long as I'm eating a balanced healthy diet, I'm fine and just consider myself lucky!

I'm 18 weeks +1 and I lost 11 pounds in my 1st trimester and I've only put on 2 pounds since then. My doctor and I aren't really worried because my eating habits have changed so much. No coffee or soda, drinking your calories really adds up. And before I had a huge sweet tooth, like dessert every night kind of huge and now I barely want anything sweet at all. Plus no fast food anymore. I think all those things really add to a lot less calories than before. If you think about it the baby doesn't weight that much yet so if your eating habits haven't changed much/or have gotten a lot better than you really shouldn't be putting on crazy weight.

I think it's okay as long as baby is measuring normal. I was underweight to begin with, I have only gained 3lbs at 18 weeks so far, after being told by my doctor she expects me to gain 30 to 40 lbs by the end. My SIL was the same weight as me, ended up gaining only 13lbs in the entire pregnancy (most of it at the end) and she has a perfectly healthy baby. I think you should be happy that your baby is healthy and fine without you having to add on extra lbs, which means less time at the gym afterwards! yay

I'm 16 weeks and have only gained 1 pound since week 9. I had nausea 1st trimester but never spit up. Forced myself to eat small meals each day, but don't feel I gav eaten enough to gain weight so makes sense I haven't gained. Baby's growth so far is normal. ( I weighed 120 prior to pregnancy and weighed 126 at week 9 now 127 at 16 weeks) Dic says I'm doing well and so is baby. As long as I wasn't losing weight.

Depends on your body. My first pregnancy I didn't gain till right after 20 weeks and my dr said that taller girls tend to not gain until halfways through, then they pack it on.. ended up gaining 40lbs my second half! With this pregnancy my new dr said that if you gain before 20 weeks, that's what you have to work off after the pregnancy.. which makes a little sense... I know our bodies fill with extra blood and fluid but that's usually not more than 5-10 lbs and our babies aren't even a lbs yet! Everyone is different!!!!  I'd say if your eating and drinking plenty, you will be fine! Enjoy the minimal weight gain!!!!!!!
