A friend of mine is due in August, and I won't be attending her baby shower for personal reasons (she's aware of why and understanding!). However, I'm stuck on what kind of gift to get her, as well as when to give it to her since I won't be attending the shower. Before baby is born or when I see them all after he's born? Funds are tight as I am trying to gather the things I need for my own baby (due in September) and I unfortunately can't afford any of the things on her registry. Since I am a first time mom, I have no idea what would be the best useful thing to get that won't cost an arm and a leg! I plan on getting a few outfits and some books but I still want to get something she'll really use and really love. Any ideas?
