Love is easy?

Question

I was catching up with a friend and she said "society paints this notion that love is hard but it's supposed to be easy." 
what are your thoughts?

I agree to an extent. Loving someone is easy, but relationships are work. Think about any relationship you have with someone other than your SO that you love- there are times were things aren't easy, but you can still love them. For example, there are times when my brothers have done nasty things and we've had horrible fights. We had to work on our relationship, apologies and do better next time. But even when I was fuming at him, I still love him and that was never a question. It's the same with your SO in my opinion. Loving them is easy. But sometimes life gets hard, you have differences of opinion, someone messes up, etc. That takes work to fix and get better. 
My relationship is amazing. I love my boyfriend so much and thats never been a question or problem for me. But we've had to work on our relationship. We don't fight and have never had more than a civil disagreement because we communicate really well. But we've developed those communication skills- that was work and at times it was hard. My ex really screwed with my head and it took me a while to easily be able to voice my issues because I was so used to them being ignored- that was something my boyfriend and I worked on together. That was hard. We're LDR and so we've had to find ways to communicate effectively, keep each other feeling loved and connected, etc. That took a lot of hard work. Relationships aren't always easy. They shouldn't be a constant uphill battle, but at times they're work. The loving part is straight forward and easy though.

Love is the hardest, most stressful, worst thing I have ever done and I highly recommend it for everyone. Love is not easy. It never has been and never will be. See, loving makes you vulnerable. People who mean nothing to you cannot hurt you and unfortunately the people you love will hurt you and you will hurt them. But not on purpose. It just happens when there are two people trying to communicate complex thoughts, opinions, experiences, and dreams. Miscommunication happens and someone gets hurt. That's where the hard part of love comes in. You can't let those accidental hurts build up and turn to resentment. You have to keep opening up, keep making yourself more vulnerable and admit that they hurt you so you can work together to fix it. As, strange as it sounds, that builds so much trust. You give someone the knowledge and power to hurt you again and instead they work to heal you. Eventually, you'll find that they've started healing hurts that they didn't cause and you didn't know were there.

Eh yes and no. The new, exciting, infatuation feeling of love is easy. But maintaining a long lasting, healthy relationship is work. You get out when you put in. If you don't put any hard work into it, you're not going to get anything meaningful back.

It is work. But if you find the right person, it becomes easy. Until I met him, I was in a lot of one-sided relationships. I was the only one trying and when I got tired of it, they told me I was just giving up and wasn't trying hard enough. I thought my ex was perfect for me. But we argued all the time. Now, I can't picture having that kind of relationship again. The biggest fight I have had with my fiance in the last 2 years was about if Avatar counts as an anime or a cartoon.
