No baby, no sac, 19,000 HCG levels

Hello All- went for my first US yesterday and no baby, heartbeat, or sac was seen. They did say they saw a mass that didn't appear like a baby but like a thickness. They took my blood and the results came back to 19,000 hcg. They suspect a molar pregnancy. Has anybody been in this type of situation?

They are recommending a d&c; tomorrow and I don't know if I should wait it out. If it's a molar pregnancy it could be harmful for me to keep it. They also didn't rule out an ectopic.

A small small part of me is holding out to hope but my mind says this isn't viable if they didn't even see a sac.
