Vacation on a budget

I want to vacation with SO next year. I have never been outside of the United States. I would be on a budget (on a budget includes hotel, plane, restaurants, tours, etc as a whole..) Im thinking scenic or beach destinations. That you've experienced or heard of, what would be a great place to vacation while on a budget? Whats the estimated cost you paid total while vacationing including plane tickets? Please include how many people went as I am only looking for estimated cost for 2 adults. Advice welcome. Thanks!
