cramps before your first period?

Okay so in my family (we don't know why) everyone has gone through cramps once a month for a YEAR before we would even get our first period. has anyone else experienced anything like this or know why it happens?

Answer

Probably because of the hormone changes that occur in that time. Your family probably just has a tendency to pass down the genes that cause that reaction, which is to be expected. I don't have anything like that in my family, but we have some weird things of our own. As long as it isn't causing any problems, it should be alright.
