Car or Apartment?

I need some help deciding... I'm 21 and I just got a job at Panera Bread, I had been recovering from my surgery, I have a 3 year old daughter, I still live at home with my parents but it's time for me to spread my wings and start living and doing things on my own. I want a apartment bad I need one, but I also want and need a car as well, so I won't have to ask my parents for too much. Anyways, what should you ladies think I should save up first? Or save up for both at the same time.

I definitely think you need transportation first. How will you get to and from work if you have an apartment or take your child to daycare/school with no car? You could save and try to get both, but I still think a car takes precedence so you can get to work.

I agree with what everyone has written so far! Definitely save for a reliable form of transportation. I understand the frustration of living with parents,  and that it's probably heightened because of your little one, but think of the positives! You're still very young-no need to rush into getting your first apartment when you already have a stable and affordable living situation for you and your baby. Not saying you should live at home forever, but without a car to get to your job, it's going to be very difficult to juggle bus schedules (assuming you live near public transportation) with your baby's schedule, etc. Also most rents, especially for a one bedroom in most areas of the country will be at least double your monthly car payment/insurance. I agree with a car first. For all the reasons stated but also because it may be dangerous to live alone with a child and not have your own transportation in an emergency situation.

Car is most important and most accessible to me. And planning for both simultaneously will only make it take longer for you to get both. Plus a car is a great way to escape for you and your kid if you want to get out of your parents house for a little while some days.
