So his house is fully paid off ( no mortgage) , along with the cars, and everything else. I am going back to school, my income will be tight. I don't like the idea of one person using/ mooching off the other. if the tables were turned I'd leave a guy who moved into my house and didn't offer to help. I will be living there running up the utilities so it's fair and considerate to contribute. The whole "shared" argument works well for the person in the relationship that has nothing. It's not fair to expect someone to take care of you. Both parties should be contributing. I am contributing what I can afford.
