I just got an HSG !
Hello Ladies! First time writing on here. I just have to share.
My husband and I have been together for 7 years and ttc for 2. I had seen my obgyn in April for my 6 month follow up after I got a leep procedure done last October. My obgyn had recommended me to see an infertility Dr about getting this HSG test to see if maybe my tubes maybe blocked?? My husband had to also to give a semen sample. In which he did right at the end of April.
I was extremely nervous because all I needed to get done was the actual test. Which seemed like forever! It took me three months just to book a consultation! So just last week (Wednesday) I was seen by the infertility Dr and was told that there are steps to go through. I had to be on my very first day of my period to get my blood work done. Luckily I had just started my period that very same day as my consultation, so I scheduled my blood work done for the following g day. And I had to be on my 4th day of my period to get the ultrasound and xray/HSG done. I didn't think about it twice and scheduled my apt literally right after my blood work was finished.
Finally!!! Talk about great timing!!! I got my HSG done yesterday. First I got an ultrasound, which I got to see my ovaries and the little eggies around. Which was a great sign! Then I went into a separate room to get the actual xray/HSG. It literally took about 5 minutes to do. A little painful. Nothing I couldn't handle. But that's why they recommend to take an ibuprofen on the morning of! Once everything was done, the Dr had went over the pictures that she had taken and advised me that I had a tiny delay when the dye processed through one of my ovaries. Dr had said that it was completely normal! And my husband's semen sample came out normal too. Thank God!
Now I have a two week follow up on July 31st just to go over my bloodwork results and to go over any other options. I'm anxious! I read and was told that there is an extremely high chance of pregnancy right after this test is done. Any of you ladies tried the HSG and have become pregnant right after? Super nervous to finally get to where we want to be in life.
