anyone have a hard time with there SO being romantic?

my husband doesn't have a romantic bone in his body! he is so awkward it's insane and so irritating. I read a lot!!! and if it wasn't for those books I wouldn't have any romance in my life at all. so disappointing. 😖

My SO is a slightly evolved, stereotypical, type A. The testosterone is high with that one. It's irritating. On a scale of 1-10 for emotional intimacy I'd rate him a 3. On the other hand, he is very attached to me 😂 I can't say I understand it. I don't even bother trying. Every once in a while, he shocks me with something genuinely sweet, kind and loving. It makes it worth it.

My partner and I have two kids, we been together for four years and the only romantic thing he does is randomanly wake up and need to hug me. The only special moment we have had is when our kids were born, I repeatedly ask him or throw him hints at flowers or gifts and never nothing works, I have never gotten a birthday or Christmas gift, I hate it but I guess that's him and nothing will change
