Will it ever happen??

Question

I am 22 and have been TTC for one year. I thought it would be no problem. All of the girls my age that were trying conceived got pregnant with no problem and have had healthy babies. I'm just wondering when it will ever be my turn. Also, my OB/GYN doesn't seem near as concerned as I am about starting test. Has anyone else experienced that?? I just want to know why I can't seem to get pregnant.

My husband and I began ttc when we were 23. We tried for about 9 months - nothing. Inhad my annual gyno apt around 9 months in & she ordered a semen analysis for hubby, hormone testing for me as well as an HSG. Soerm came back fine, hormones were fine except my prolactin was a bit high. I went on meds for that and that brought my levels down to normal. The HSG showed a blocked tube so my gyno referred me to an reporudcfitve endocrinologist. By this point we were a year in. My RE started with a diagnostic cycle where they do a bunch of tests throughout your cycle to get all the "pieces if the puzzle". He concluded that both my tubes were severely blocked & I have low progesterone post ovulation so I get my period way too soon after ovulating. We tried a an IUI because my insurance covered it & my doc said I might as well try before doing IVF. My doc said ivf would work though bcmy husband and I were very healthy, it was really just the egg and sperm couldn't get to each other. So we did IVF this past January, froze our embryos so we could do genetic testing. We did a frozen transfer in March, I was put in a bunch of meds including tons of progesterone & got pregnant! I'll be 21wks on friday. This is just my experience and definitely doesnt mean there is something wrong just because you haven't gotten pregnant yet. But I feel women know their bodies and if you feel you want to get checked out then maybe tell your gyno you'd like to start testing. Either way I wish you luck and baby dust!!! It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive. After that I'd suggest speaking with your OBGYN.
