Too early?

Is 3 weeks too early to take a baby around a lot of people? Every year my town holds a festival in October. It's a big thing and the majority of the town goes. I usually go but this year I will have a 3 week old baby. I don't plan on letting a lot of people touch her or anything, but there will still be a lot of people near her. I do plan on getting her vaccinated so she will have had her first set of shots by then. Should I go or skip it this year?

Totally a personal decision. All I can say is that I wouldn't unless I had to do it I know too many mamas who had really sick (RSV) newborns (which can also end badly) due to taking them out around people too early. And you can't take something like that back Summertime usually means less colds, but germs are still germs and a three week old is still SO new. We are just basically keeping them alive for the first little bit after they're born. They're susceptible to so much. But that's just my two cents. You are the mama, so I'm sure you'll do what's best for you and your little one. Best wishes.

My baby will be about a month old (give or take 2 weeks, depending on when she arrives), when it'll be our holiday. So my baby will be around a lot of people around that age. It's a personal decision.

I took my baby out when she was just over a week old. I did make sure that she was well covered and had a blanket to keep her warm. She's 3 and a half months old now and has been just fine.
