panic attacks after sex?

after sex sometimes the adrenaline causes me to have a random panic attack. I know it freaks my boyfriend out. my heart just gets beating so fast that I start to shake and sometimes cry and sob uncontrollably. he never does anything wrong so I'm not really sure how to prevent this.

Maybe try some super relaxing stuff before sex. Take a bubble bath with him, have him massage you, take it slow and if you feel one coming on take deep breaths and try and focus on the feel of his skin and the moment. I hope this helps.

Maybe try to go for a walk in an open area with him? If you're having issues with too much energy, I think it may be best to take advantage of it. Instead of waiting for it to possibly happen, have an after sex routine where you plan as if it will happen and do something to help either from it coming or soothing it. I know it's kind of second nature to lay and snuggle together after, but it may be best to jump right up and do something active. Best of luck!

It makes sense because when you have sex you produce a bunch of hormones and your cortisol levels raise. If you already have high cortisol levels, it can absolutely cause "panic attacks" or what resembles a panic attack. I would go to a doctor and get your adrenal function checked out. That used to happen to me after I worked out. It gets some of the same hormones and stuff running in your body when you work out. I used to uncontrollably gasp for breath and want to cry and almost feel like I could pass out. I recently got my adrenals and cortisol checked and they were all a mess.

Try breathing deeply during. It helps with my anxiety. I'll literally stop my husband during sex so I can call back down and it seems to be working for the last year. Sometimes I'll get way to into it and end up shaking I controllably after sex. But that just means it was good and satisfying(: hope this helps!

Can't help you, but I do the same thing but that was because I was raped so when I have sex I always seem to picture the guy..
