Child birth classes?

Question

Is anyone planing on or has already taken a child birthing class? My MIL was asking when we plan on taking one and I honestly didn't put any thought into it at all before she asked. This is my first child and I've been reading a lot so I'm not completely ignorant to childbirth but part of me doesn't want to take a class. I don't plan on doing it naturally so I'm just not really sure what else there is to take a class on.

My birthing class was super interesting. They showed you the size of the epidural needle, whAt a vacuum looked like and forceps. It explained the many birthing options. What preterm really looks like and how many of a percentage can have It and how many have to have c-sections. We did a couple of breathing exercises. Our men in class got to wear the back pack full of what a full term baby feels like and made them do tasks we have a hard time doing. We came up with a birthing plan and what we won't be able to do. We took a hospital tour. We found out everything they give us in the hospital when we go in. There was a wooden model of each cm dilation. We also learned the different steps of labor and ride out the beginning of labor at home until it becomes active labor so they don't send you home. There was so much more but  I can't type it all. Our next class is infancy.

We took one around 20 weeks and it was great! It really involved my husband a lot too and gave him ideas of things he can be doing during labor. It also explained the stages of labor which really calmed any fears I had about it! I really recommend taking one!

I took 2 with my first child. The one about childbirth was a waste in my opinion. It all went out the window once I was in labor. I would suggest doing a CPR class.

I did sign up for childbirth class but then my hospital cancelled that day so I just opted for a refund. Not time to really reschedule. My friend just had a baby there recently too and said she did fine without. I want epidural anyway so it isn't like really required then. It was $100 so we'll use that towards baby stuff. And I opted for the free hospital tour instead
We did sign up for breastfeeding and CPR though so still doing those.

We elected not to take a class since I will be having an epidural and I do a lot of research on my own. A friend of mine gave me some paper back books she got during her childbirth class to read over that are very comprehensive. Saved us $75 and a bunch of time.

I took a child birth class with my husband and I personally thought it was boring. The only part of the class that I actually liked was the hospital tour but you can do a tour without the class, you just have to call the hospital and set it up.

Me personally has never been interested in taking one. Juggling so many appointments around work hasn't helped the decision either

I really want to take a class but they are super expensive here. For now- just reading a lot of info and watching videos.
