Is it safe to put our children identities out there on social media?

Gabriela

I have been posting a lot of pictures of my baby on social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat since my baby was born.

I take precautions of not to share private moments of my baby and not share my location with anyone also I'm only friends with friends only, I would never accept an stranger. Any how coming back to the point I know nothing is really private on the internet I mean any one can just get their hands on our kids pictures even if we have our accounts private and only add friends. Our kids are just one screen shot away to be forever on social media even if we intent to erased all their pictures. I have been reading a lot of blogs from people who do research on this matter and what they recommend is to take off our children from social media because we are taking away our children's freedom of expose themselves on social media, they said this is a problem that will affect them in the future because we are going to define the way we want people to see our kids perhaps if they are actually like that. I feel like this group it's a bit safer than any other because I read post and see pictures of babies from people that I don't know and most important I don't know where are they from. Maybe I'm just being paranoid on this matter but I would like to know how do you feel about this matter? For now I'll respect my child and keep her off social media. The experts recommend not to share never her real name or the location of your home or school plus never get into detail if you are always alone with your child and never checking into places near home.
