Sick after 4 month shots?

my healthy strong boy got a first round of TDAP (we delayed) and 2 meningitis shots at his 4 month check up on Tuesday.
He was lethargic all day andthen Wednesday night woke up crying with runny nose, coughing and slight fever. he has never been sick before - my heart is breaking! we were up till 4/5 am.
doc assistant says it likely isnt side effects from TDAP? but maybe he picked up something in the office. ? seems unlikely to me. im upset and dont want to do any more vaccines.
feedback? similar experiences?

I would much rather my baby have some mild symptoms for a couple of days than contract a disease or illness the vaccines are intended to prevent.  I give my guy a dose of Tylenol with his vaccines and it seems to help him.  He just got his 4 month vaccines today - one oral and 3 pokes.  He had an oral and 2 pokes at 2 months and was fine.

Sounds like a cold to me! And colds are good! :) Babies have lots in their first year and it builds up a strong immune system. Just make sure he's comfortable and the fever doesn't get too high.  
Don't let this experience lead you into thinking that vaccines aren't a good idea. They're very safe and extremely important for your baby and other people's children.

Catching an infection in a doctor's office or a hospital is actually very likely. That's where the sick people go!!
My daughter's first cold was when I took her with me for my 6 week follow up 🙈.
It's sad when they get sick but it's transient and they get over it. Give Tylenol if he gets a fever, a humidifier and saline spray help with the runny nose. Lots of nursing/formula to prevent dehydration and lots of cuddles and kisses. If you are unsure, take him to the doctor for a check.

My guy just got his 4 month shots yesterday. At two months it was the same, cranky, tired, and slight fever. We do Tylenol and it really helps him. I also just gold him more and nurse him often for comfort. It is worth it in the long run, just hard to deal with in the moment because we don't want them to suffer.

I wish I could help. My baby gets her 4 month shot in 2 weeks. After her 2 month shots, we were told she could spike a fever and get sick. She never got sick or had a fever but she was very lethargic. She just slept all day that day. And I couldn't put her down. She had to be held in order to sleep. Hopefully it's gets better for you.

we had a similar experience but with the 6 week needless my daughter became very lethargic, was not feeding and was grunting constantly. when she woke up from a long nap ( nearly 3 hours ) she was unresponsive and we rushed her to emergency where she had a high fever and heart rate was very fast. we were in hospital for 5 days she bounced back very quickly, the doctors seem to think it was a viral infection, i think it had something to do with the needles and also something she had picked up from someone/somewhere as she was not herself since the needles. we are very hesitant about the vaccine's but we are still going to be getting them as would hate my daughter to contract a serious illness that could have been prevented.

My guy was super fussy and irritable after his shots but not lethargic. If you can't wake him he has a fever which you should do a butt temp and it's 100 degrees and he's breathing (15 breaths in 15 seconds) get him to the hospital. It's likely not from the shots. My guy was starting to get bronchitis a few weeks before his 4 months and I was told that. If his nose Is stuffy get saline mist and suction his nose with a bulb. Hope he feels better. He's a cutie!

Mild fever after shots is normal. Runny nose and cough is not. Sounds like he picked up a cold in the office or elsewhere. Just bad timing with the shots  Humidifier, nasal saline spray (little noses), suction bulb/nose Frieda, and Tylenol if your doctor says (no Motrin under 6 months). He'll be better in no time!

Oh lord the 3 days after the 4 month shots were hell for my baby. He cried all day, he had a fever for two days, he just wanted constant constant attention at all times or he'd be screaming. We took him in and they said it was from the shots and to give him Tylenol and pedialyte and within a day he was feeling better
