When did you stop taking baby out in the infant car seat?

When did you stop taking the whole infant car seat out with you? Like actually taking the baby out and transferring them to a stroller (not using the car seat) or shopping cart?  My daughter is 15 lbs and getting very heavy to carry in her infant car seat 😓

From birth. 3 boys and never got a snap out car seat. They've had convertible car seats from the start. Nothing is convenient to me carrying around a 10 lbs baby on a 20lbs seat, especially with multiple kids. I baby wear. Baby is happy, next to my heart, away from strangers, safe from coughing people, safe from getting touched, and sleeps better on Mommy anyway

I have a doona carseat that converts into a stroller. If I'm just getting a couple of things from the store, I use that. If I'm getting a lot, he sits in the seat of the shopping cart now. He's 7 months. Before he could sit up in that, I just wore him into the store. I'm glad he can finally use the seat, because he's 19 lbs and babywearing was getting hard.

I'll never understand people carrying around car seats. That just doesn't make sense to me. Our car seat clicks right into her stroller.

We are going to switch when she outgrows it.  She is three inches away from the max height at 6 months so I think we might make it to 8 months.  The infant seat is so convenient until they can sit on their own.  It is nice for restaurants and stuff like that.  I cannot wait until she masters sitting and sits in the highchair.

I never did. I didnt get one. Then, once she could sit up fine on her own i just started putting her in the cart.
