I'm confused about birth control !!

I am 15 and I have been on the pill for a week now, because my menstrual cramps have been horrendous in the past. My calendar on <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glow.android.eve">Eve</a> says I should be on my period now and I'm not bleeding at all. How do I know if I got my period or not? Am I just not supposed to bleed ?
