How soon after birth can you get an IUD?

I read that after birth it's more likely to be expulsed, and I'm wondering if you have to wait a certain amount of time for your cervix to get back to its old self? Can you get it before your PP bleeding stops?

I'm getting one and I'll be 10 weeks but allowed at 8

I had mine 8 weeks PP, she wouldn't do it at my 6 week appointment because of insurance reasons or something.

My doctor wont put one in until 8w pp (thats when i got mine). Ive had it since March 2017 and so far so good

just had mine put in at 8 wks and none would do it before that due to me breast feeding. I tried at six pp appt but no dice.
