Colposcopy (tmi stuff sorry!)

I had a colposcopy yesterday and I just need some encouragement and info on what's normal and not normal??? I have this hard scab like stuff on the opening of my vagina and it stings a little because it's so tight and dry. And that came off when I wiped and it was like the size of my finger. Now there's what looks like a solid beige colored THING in my vagina poking out but I'm afraid to touch it or pull it out. How long should I expect stuff like this?? How does his affect your period? My doc said stuff about coffee grounds/sand looking discharge but not THIS. I'm supposed to start my period in a week and I'm nervous my period is going to hurt. Any words of wisdom/share your experiences! Please and thanks, I'm just freaking out a little
