Where does breast milk come from

Question

My boobs have started to leak and now I can't stop thinking of weird stuff. So I know you have like milk ducts in your breast is that where milk forms and stays until its pumped or sucked out?
Or is it like stored in a pocket or something in your boob. Ftm and things like this totally boggle me. 😩😂

You have about 15-20 milk ducts but what holds your milk are called alveoli. Your milk is like a never ending river which is why if you don't pump out your milk or feed, you can become engorged which is pretty painful!

Breasts are glands that primarily consist of fatty tissue that support and protect the milk producing areas of the breast. 
Milk is produced in a small cluster of cells called alveoli which are connected to your ducts. The milk travels from these cells down the milk ducts to the nipple. 
Your body is constantly making milk in these cells to be able to produce enough for your baby. So there's not necessarily a "pocket" that holds the milk, but rather hundreds of cells that are all working together to produce it.
