Does this count as the first day of my period

I had very little bleeding on Friday. It was only some little spotting and it was more a brownish color. I didn't really need a tampon and I only wore a pad so I wouldn't stain my panties. By the end of the night there wasn't much bleeding. The next day it was a bit heavier and I put in a tampon. Now it's just my usual period. But I wonder, is the day I spotted technically the first day of my period or would the next day when it was heavier the first day? I just want to track everything correct and I can track my ovulation and fertile days accurately
