Hormone Free Birth Control that isn't sponge/diaphragm/copper IUD?

Question

Hormonal birth control does bad things to my mental health, so my boyfriend and I have been using the withdrawal method. But I always feel more comfortable on birth control since i get anxious without it. I'm not a fan of methods that require use every time you have sex (like condoms, diaphragm, sponge, spermicide), and I've heard bad things about the copper iud. 
My question is am I being too picky, or does there actually exist a birth control that will satisfy my needs?

Too picky. I'm too picky too, but At minimum use the spermicide.  Precum is real and not to be played with.

that's probably too picky. the only other method is ovulation tracking which takes a lot of work and it sounds like you don't want that. the copper iud and hormonal iuds are less likely to effect your mood because the hormones stay in your uterus and don't go into your blood stream they have the lowest dose of hormones of all the hormonal methods and copper has zero hormones. there are horror stories of each method everywhere take that info with a grain of salt. everyone is different. there's only a 0.01% chance of pregnancy on an iud but that includes checking strings monthly. I would talk to a doctor about what the best method for you may be.  you may react poorly to one hormonal method but better to another especially with pills because there are hundreds of different brands and dosages. also with non hormonal  methods, besides the iud, they will all be a use as you have sex effort level.

I didnt like how a hormonal form of birth control affected my body, so I stopped using it. I don't know of any forms of non-hormonal birth control that you don't need to use right before sex. :/ And you aren't being picky either, I don't want to use hormonal birth control or anything that you need to use/put on a certain amount of hours before sex. There are options out there, but not enough. Even though it sounds bothersome, I think in the future I will use condoms with a sponge. The only thing I can say right now is that you're going to have to use what's available right now. Maybe in the future they'll invent new forms of birth control that fit your needs. 😉
