So the results of my combined NT test isnt amazing. I'm high risk. 1 in 13 chance of downs. 1 in 140 of Edwards syndrome. 1 in 25 of patau syndrome. The last two syndromes the babies are severely deformed and the babies dont survive past birth. Have been and seen specialist midwife and consultant this afternoon. Feel calmer now we've spoken to her. She said look at it another way, 1 in 13 is still a near on 90% chance of having a normal baby. Looking at the odds a different way has given us a bit more hope. We've decided to have a CVS diagnostic test to find out for sure if baby has anything wrong. We're also going to have a fetal heart scan to check its not a heart defect. Both tests will be in London and will be done by Tuesday at the latest. Then 3-5 working day wait for the results. But that will tell us for definite. Just a waiting game now xxxx
