Omg so itchy

So like I got my IUD last week and like my vag has been so itchy! Idk what to do! It think it's cause I haven't had sex in a while and now I'm constantly touching myself so see if the strings are still there (doctors orders for the first week) but now my vagina is itchy and sort of swelling! Anyone know what's going on?!
