Someone please help me. Has anyone been in this position? Can someone help me? I’m getting desperate since school is starting soon.

I contacted the office weeks ago about my inability to provide a student/spouse 2015 IRS tax return since I was chosen for a verification review. My husband had contacted the IRS office like the school suggested and they sent us a letter stating that we were not required to file taxes as we got to keep our taxes through the entire year of 2015 since he was deployed that whole year. The school accepted it and showed that it was waived but now I’m being told that I need to submit it again? But the IRS does not have anything on file as we didn’t need to file anything? I submitted a letter of verification of non-filing because that's all the IRS could give us… I did send in our w-2's so they can see what our income was in 2015 though and they took it... Please help. It’s getting too close to the school year and I just signed a lease for an apartment yesterday just to attend school
