Would you say something?
If you saw a pregnant woman drinking a glass of wine?
In the U.K., it's very clearly not advised to drink but the facts are openly discussed that 2 small glasses (or one just over half full) of wine 1-2 times a month won't likely hurt your baby if you're LOW RISK and don't drink more than a SMALL glass of wine each week. It's also advised you don't do it every month.
A friend's girlfriend today went off on a rant about how she publicly told off a pregnant woman for having a glass of wine. She was then furious that the woman told her it was fine and her midwife said so.
Personally I don't think she was right to have said anything to the pregnant woman.
She was in a little huff after I said that the NHS actually has guidelines on drinking during pregnancy and what is safe.
This girl knows very little about pregnancy (thinks breastfeeding is gross, thinks a newborn will sleep through the night, thinks pregnancy weight gain is due to laziness, thinks labour is a one day maximum thing) so I'm shocked she thought she knew enough to tell an actually pregnant woman anything.
