Do I have hypothyroidism??

Question

I got blood work done on Thursday and my results were just posted on the online chart. I'm sure the doctor will call me tomorrow to explain but does anyone know what these results mean??

Your TSH is normal so your hypothalamus is releasing a normal level of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. Since T4 isn't indicated that could either mean it wasn't tested for, hasn't been released or they couldn't measure enough- there should be some kind of disclaimer to tell you what it means. 
If your T4 is low then you would have secondary hypothyroidism, meaning your thyroid isn't functioning properly. However, usually when you have low T4 levels your hypothalamus tries to compensate and releases excess TSH to try to activate your thyroid (this isn't always the case though). Since TSH is pretty much in the middle range I want to say your T4 levels are fine. But, it's not clear if T4 was tested for. If T4 is low then yes you do. You doctor should be able to explain it as they'll know how this lab sends results. Also it'll depend on a full medical history as well. You can't ever make a diagnosis without a complete history.

It looks like you were not tested for the T4. You should be tested for t4 + t3 in the normal work up. Consult with your doctor.

This is a normal level...UNLESS you're pregnant. Then your doctor will probably put you on a low dose of Synthroid to get it below 2.5. This is only if you're pregnant though.
