Anyone have a child or a baby with tongue tie?

I'm 99% sure my son has tongue tie. Just need to see my health visitor or doctor to get in confirmed. I know this can affect speech and I'm worried it will be something he's bullied over when he's in school. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I've read about the procedure where they snip the skin underneath the tongue but I'm not sure if they do that here in the UK. Have any of you done anything to fix it? Or anyone who has kids with tongue tie, has it affected their speech?
