confused

I had a miscarriage Saturday night. Had an ultrasound yesterday which showed some "products of conception" remained but my cervix is closed. The hospital has given me the option to continue naturally, have medication or have a D&C. The nurse said the D&C might not clear everything & could cause issues ttc later. I'm very confused, if my cervix is closed how will my body finish clearing everything? Any advise would be helpful.
