EC descriptions?

How do YOU explain EC to people who have never heard of it? I don't know about you, but I find myself in some pretty entertaining conversations, where I'm pretty sure the person asking gets WAAAY more disgusting details than they anticipated!

I basically explain tha I'm. It training my baby, its more like all the way around. My baby wasn't born with an instinct to ask for a diaper but to tell me when he needs to release, just like needing food or warmth. It's another way of building trust and understanding thowards each other, he know that mum will help him eat, sleep and cuddle him, as well as releasing without staying dirty and stinky !!

How many months is your baby  now?

I say that historically when parents haven't had diapers, they just paid close attention to the baby and learned when a little wiggle or a certain facial expression or something meant they had to go, and then the parent would hold them over a bush or something. I say we do that, except with indoor plumbing and diaper backups in case we miss his signal.

Now that my baby is getting older (almost one year) I think it's easier to explain as I can say to people that she fusses when she needs to go potty and then I take her, she goes and then is happy again. When she was younger I would explain that I pay attention to her to figure out when she needs to go, just like I would figure out if she is hungry or tired :) Then if they ask questions the conversation naturally goes "down the toilet" haha
