Do you prefer to wear leggings or shorts to the gym?

I try to go to the gym as much as I can and stick to weights more than cardio, but I've noticed a trend especially on social media that everyone is wearing leggings to the gym these days and I do not understand how ya'll don't overheat! I tried it once and ten minutes in I was sweating more than I do by the end of my workout, guess it's shorts for me
