I first started going to a specialist when I was in first grade and my teacher would always before I got diagnosed say to my mom that I would disrupt class and I would not pay attention and just go with my own flow. And for assessments it was always tough because for certain tests i had to go out of the room for them to get extra time and kids would ask me why I would go out of the room and up until like 5th grade I did not understand why or what I had and what it meant myself but now I am like a self advocate for ADHD and explain what I go through and how me getting unlimited time on tests is not unfair. And how it is a struggle daily but I have ways to help most of it like I have a ball of paper clips with me at all times to play with and I take medicine in the morning because school.
