What do contractions feel like?

Ok stupid question ....
I am having a lot of pain in my upper stomach, it is kind of like the baby is stretching out and then releasing and I can even see my stomach change shape. It has been happening all evening, every couple minutes for 10 seconds or so, and then it stops for a while. 
Is this just baby having an uncomfortable dance party, or could it be early labor?

When I was in labor my contractions were at the bottom of my stomach and in my lower back. Maybe you're having gas pains or baby is pushing on something. If it keeps up or gets worse I would call your doctor to make sure.

I get that exact same thing no it's not contractions- your baby is running out of room so basically it's really tight quarters and they kind of get 'stuck' moving around then settle in

every body is different. my contractions were only in my back, never the front. my sister said hers were like period cramps at the bottom of her stomach and my best friend had a combo of all.
