Affordable travel systems?!

So I've been looking at car seat/stroller combos for what seems like forever now and I seriously can't decide. I was originally gonna go with the Chicco bravo travel system with the keyfit 30 car seat but then my husbands cousin got a safety 1st smooth ride system with the onboard air 35 infant seat and its like half the price and seems like good quality for the money.. I'd like to save money but I also want my baby girl to be safe and get a good quality car seat and stroller. Opinions? Has anyone had any issues with safety first? Any other recommendations? Thanks!
